This was submitted for  the “Worst Visual Novel Ever” Challenge 2025. It was made as a parody of failed game jam projects: chaotic teammates, half-assed outline and bad concept art are part of the package. But you're here to fix it up!

When the game crashes aka when you die, on browser click on Quit first (Important!) before refreshing the page & rerun the game again to continue to next part of the story. For PC, just quit & restart.

The drawing minigames are quite laggy on browser, better to play it on PC if possible. If you end up powering through the story and drawing stuff, I'd love to see what you come up with!

STORY

Once upon a time, there was a newb trying to make a Visual novel for a game jam with their team. It was supposed to be "the best VN evaaar!" according to Team leader. But shit hits the fan. Artist got hit by truck. Writer was too busy irl. Friends clashed and quit. And thus project failed. Oh, and said newb dies. 

Once upon another time and pixelated space, there was a butler working for a bickering vampire and his human wife, that was bored out of his mind. But now there's an annoying ghost following him around, telling him he's just a character in an unfinished VN and all day trying to make him "reach the true ending" and "finish drawing all missing assets." And now there's a vampire hunter in town too?

Draw your way out of the story and choose well to help Ghostie reach the true ending and finally RIP!

TLDR:

A VN about failing to make a VN and exploiting the player to finish it instead.

FEATURING:

- Chatroom mechanics:  The most chaotic people in a group project you've ever seen

- Gallery of all your bootiful drawings to admire, print on teacups and send to your family and friends for Xmas

- Become the VN jack-of-all-trades (but master of none) you’ve always wanted to be:

• Drawing minigames: Finish the work the OG Sprite artist didn’t have time to finish (or start)! And the backgrounds too! Everything you draw will get used as an asset ingame. 

- Switch PoV faster than switching dishes in an all-you-can-eat buffet: Ever wanted to transplant yourself in another body? Now you can! Begin the story as hopeful dev. Finish it as overworked Butler. Break the 4^th wall, enter the 2D dimension! Don’t mind the neologism. What is even 1^st person, 2^nd person or 3^rd person PoV? Is it eatable?

- *Unique* setting that’s never been done before

- Acronyms vomit: I hope you know your VN vocab, coz this dev ain’t gonna explain it.

- 5 endings + 1 true ending. You'll know you've reached it when you do.

- Reach the true HE to help the dev finally RIP.

- 10-15k words to paddle through

- Intentional death resets ie game crashing

NB: When the game crashes aka when you die, just reopen it. Maybe you’ll end up in another dimension.

- Organically made by a living, breathing human.

- OSTs and sound FX with specially made songs for the occasion
